Jamie Carragher left Micah Richards stunned as he named his pick for the most underrated footballer of all time.
On Wednesday night, the popular quartet of Kate Scott, Carragher, Richards and Thierry Henry were back again as they headed CBS Sports’ coverage of the UEFA Champions League.
Carragher’s former team Liverpool were in action as a Darwin Nunez goal sealed a hard-earned 1-0 win over German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
After the match, Carragher was shown a graphic of Liverpool players who have made the most appearances in the European Cup, which the former defender topped with 91 appearances, ahead of Steven Gerrard(87) and Mohamed Salah(69).

Reacting to the graphic, ex-Manchester City and England player Richards said: “That’s pretty legendary that.”
To which Carragher replied: “It is isn’t it? I think I’m the most underrated footballer of all time.”
As presenter Scott laughed at Carragher’s claim and Henry was left visibly stunned, Richards said: “I wouldn’t go that far!” You can watch the footage below.
Throughout a career that spanned 17 years, Carragher solely played for boyhood club Liverpool, making a total of 737 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals in the process.

He also got his hands on three League Cups, two FA Cups, two FA Community Shields, two UEFA Super Cups, one Champions League and one UEFA Cup.
On the international stage, Carragher was capped 38 times by England and was in the squad for Euro 2004, the 2006 World Cup and also the 2010 World Cup.
Since retiring in 2013, Carragher has been a popular figure on Sky Sports as a pundit and also a regular member of CBS Sports’ Champions League lineup.
Speaking about the start Liverpool have made under new boss Arne Slot, Carragher said: “They haven’t reinforced. It’ll be really interesting to see if Liverpool do bring anyone in in January. They didn’t bring too much in in the summer.

“And if they think they’ve got a realistic chance at the title and there’s a player that they feel fits their criteria, their model, I think they’ll pay the money to bring that player in.”
