Jamie Carragher has criticised Everton club chiefs for an 'unbelievable' decision that Toffees fans will know 'in their hearts and heads' is wrong.
The Toffees have already been hit with a 10-point deduction by the Premier League for breaches of their Profit and Sustainability Rules.
That punishment was related to breaches in the 2021/22 season, with Sean Dyche's side currently one point above the relegation zone having played a game more than 18th-placed Luton.

Now, the club have been charged with an alleged breaches of the same set of regulations for last season's accounts, along with fellow relegation rivals Nottingham Forest.
Both clubs have confirmed that they will fully co-operate with a Premier League investigation, with Everton going on to state: "The club must now defend another Premier League complaint which includes the very same financial periods for which it has already been sanctioned, before that appeal has even been heard.
"The club takes the view that this results from a clear deficiency in the Premier League's rules."

And while Everton fans have been critical of the Premier League over the points deduction, they have also been even more strongly critical of the way the club has been run under the ownership of Farhad Moshiri and the Everton board.
And writing in his column for The Telegraph, boyhood Everton supporter Carragher says the ownership should take 'sole responsibility' for the club's predicament - including one area that is 'unbelievable'.
He wrote: "Moshiri's legacy is a shambles. The crisis engulfing the club is down to him and yet his silence - and that of some of his former Goodison executives - is deafening."
Carragher went on to add: "The strongest [fan] emotions should be directed towards their [Everton's] own executives, or ex-board members, who created this sorry situations.

"In their heads and hearts, Evertonians know that better than anyone.
"They have been trying to hold their hierarchy to account for years, holding numerous demonstrations because they could see the dangers ahead.
"Those supporters have been totally vindicated.
"Moshiri has been sailing close to the wind for years, leaving the club at the risk of exposure. At one point, Everton's wages were 95 per cent of the club's turnover. That is unbelievable."

He later continued: "What is indisputable is Everton are in the position they are because they spent too much and spent badly over many years."
