Eric Dier is reportedly set for a surprise role at Bayern Munich as Thomas Tuchel is faced with a minor crisis.
Last week, Dier left Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur to join German Bundesliga champions Bayern on loan until the end of the 23/24 season.
The Englishman has fallen down the pecking order since Ange Postecoglou took charge of Spurs, making just four appearances for the North London club.

At first, Dier was viewed as a backup option for Tuchel at Bayern, however, that reportedly could change.
This is due to the fact that central defenders Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt sat out training, as confirmed on Bayern’s official website on Tuesday.
The Bavarian club are currently at a training camp in Faro, Portugal ahead of their Bundesliga clash against Werder Bremen this weekend.

As a result of both Upamecano and De Ligt missing training, Dier could possibly be thrown straight into the starting XI this weekend if Tuchel’s first-choice defenders continue to struggle.
De Ligt is suffering from a capsular injury in his left knee and will not be able to train for now.
Speaking after joining Bayern, 29-year-old Dier said: “This move is a dream come true for me, because as a child you want to play for a club like Bayern one day.

“I want to help the team with my versatility in defence. I’m really looking forward to my new teammates and the fans at the Allianz Arena, which in my eyes is one of the best stadiums in the world.”
Meanwhile, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund added: “We’re pleased we’ve been able to sign Eric Dier. He’s long been in our thinking for this transfer window.
“Eric will be a valuable part of our defence. His sporting abilities and international experience will help the team both on the pitch and in the changing room.”
