A damning Harry Kane stat has emerged after England’s Euro 2024 final defeat against Spain.
On Sunday night, there were hopes that the Three Lions could go one step further this time around and bring glory back to England by beating Spain in the final of Euro 2024 in Berlin.
However, goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal shattered England’s Euro 2024 dreams as Luis de la Fuente’s men sealed a 2-1 victory. Cole Palmer was the scorer for Gareth Southgate’s side.
During the match, England captain Kane was substituted in the 61st minute after another below-par performance, he was replaced by Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, who was the hero in the semi-final clash against the Netherlands.

On the back of another disappointing night for English football, a damning stat comparing Kane with Manchester City’s Jack Grealish emerged.
As per Opta Joe, who wrote on social media: “Harry Kane had just one touch in the opposition box across the EURO 2020 and EURO 2024 finals against Italy and Spain.
“One fewer than Jack Grealish had; Grealish played 21 minutes in the 2020 final and didn't make the EURO 2024 squad. Uninvolved.”

Despite the poor performances, Kane did come away with the Golden Boot after sharing the award with the likes of Cody Gakpo, Georges Mikautadze, Jamal Musiala, Dani Olmo and Ivan Schranz.
Speaking after the match, the Bayern Munich striker said: “We just didn’t quite keep the same intensity and pressure (after scoring) or keep the ball well enough. It is the last stage of the tournament, there is a lot of tired legs and tired mentality there.
“We just struggled and then got caught with the ball in behind. It is down to big moments — we had a big moment at the end where they cleared one off the line, it could have been different, but for now it is really disappointing.”
