Cristiano Ronaldo once left an enormous tip at a hotel after being so impressed by their service.
Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo is among the richest athletes in the world, with his contract at Al Nassr, alongside various commercial ventures and sponsorships, seeing him reportedly earn £167.9million a year.
But, as the hotel staff at the exclusive Costa Navarino resort discovered back in 2018, Ronaldo is generous when sharing out his fortune.
Hotel staff in the Greek resort reportedly discovered a €20,000 (£17,150) tip after the footballer checked out of his stay.
Ronaldo’s one requirement upon departing was said to be that the staff who made his stay so enjoyable shared the tip equally.
“The 10 employees, who had been tasked with providing services to Ronaldo’s family and to keep them away from the paparazzi, each received €2,000,” the Greek online sports magazine, Sportime.gr, claimed.
Ronaldo checked into the resort in the wake of Portugal being knocked out of the 2018 World Cup and spent 10 days with his family and friends at the Royal Methoni villa.
The villa is said to come with a round-the-clock butler service and sand dunes which provide cover from photographers.
Previous guests include Noughties Hollywood it-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Ronaldo, too, uploaded a spate of holiday pictures from the resort on Instagram, including one in which he is bobbing around in a dinghy, and another alongside partner Georgina Rodríguez.
The Portugal superstar has continued to enjoy a lavish lifestyle since moving to Saudi Arabia to play for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in January 2023.
