Cristiano Ronaldo was left with astronomical bill after leaving Saudi Arabia hotel for permanent home

Cristiano Ronaldo was left with astronomical bill after leaving Saudi Arabia hotel for permanent home

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is no stranger to staying in lavish properties.

Cristiano Ronaldo had to pay an eye-watering amount of money when he moved out of a Saudi Arabia hotel room for a permanent residence in the country.

Ronaldo, 39, moved into the swanky Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh after completing a move from Manchester United to Al-Nassr in December 2022.

Sky Sports reported that he was set to earn around £175m per year to add to his net worth of $285m according to Forbes.

But some of this huge amount was spent on a luxury stay at the Four Seasons.

The Portuguese reportedly brought his whole entourage to the hotel with family, friends and security all catered for.

According to GOAL, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner booked 17 rooms in the two-story ‘Kingdom Suite’ at the lavish hotel.

The suite was said to have featured a dining room, living room, cinema room and gold marble bathrooms with views of the city.

In February 2023, the Mirror reported that the former Real Madrid star had finally checked out of the hotel trading it for a more permanent residence thought to be in an exclusive compound with high-level security, and access to shops, restaurants and gyms. The exact location of Ronaldo's home is still unclear.

But this came after the 39-year-old had to shell out a staggering bill of £250,000. Of course, to the regular person, this is an eye-watering amount of money, but for Ronaldo, it equates to around 6% of his reported £3.17m per week salary.

The Portuguese superstar reportedly has quite the portfolio of properties, including two in his hometown of Madeira, one in Turin, a Marbella holiday pad and a £17 million retirement residency in Quinta da Marinha, on the Portuguese Riviera.

Ronaldo, who then played for Real Madrid, also bought a Madrid mansion for £5 million in July 2010, and it was reported that the property was based in the upmarket La Finca neighbourhood in the Spanish capital.

The former Sporting CP winger is in the final year of his contract at Al Nassr but has recently praised the quality of the Saudi Pro League explaining how it was ‘better’ than Ligue 1, which Lionel Messi used to play in.
