Cole Palmer sets new FPL record as stunning 2024/25 price revealed

Cole Palmer sets new FPL record as stunning 2024/25 price revealed

Palmer's meteoric rise continues.

England and Chelsea star Cole Palmer has set a new Fantasy Premier League (FPL) record as his remarkable rise continues.

Almost everything has gone right for Palmer since he swapped Manchester City for Chelsea in a £42.5m transfer in September.

Eyebrows were raised when Chelsea forked out the fee for Palmer, who had made only 41 appearances for City when Todd Boehly pounced.

But it has proved to be an inspired signing, with the 22-year-old going on to enjoy an excellent debut season at Stamford Bridge.

He scored 25 goals in 45 games for the Blues, form which earned him a place in England's squad for Euro 2024.

Palmer has played a key role for the Three Lions in Germany, impressing with several appearances off the bench.

He set up Ollie Watkins' for the winner in Wednesday's 2-1 victory over the Netherlands, which sent England through to Sunday's final where they will face Spain.

His performances have been so impressive that calls are growing for England manager Gareth Southgate to start the winger in the final in Berlin.

Palmer has now set a new record in FPL as a result of his incredible form, with the Chelsea forward given the biggest price rise in the history of the game.

He is priced at £10.5m for the 2024/25 edition of the game, having cost just £5m at the start of the 2023/24 season – which rose to £6.2m by the end of the campaign.

That rise breaks the previous record of £5.0m, set by Andy Carroll in the 2011/12 season.

Carroll had started the 2010/11 campaign costing only £5.0m while at Newcastle but after moving to Liverpool in January, he was priced at £10.0m ahead of his first full season at Anfield.

Speaking ahead of Sunday's Euros final, Palmer called on his teammates to "finish the job".

"Everyone's buzzing," he told England's YouTube channel after the win over the Netherlands.

"Last night on the bus, tunes were on, [in the] changing room, everyone was just enjoying it.

"But obviously it's a short turnaround and it's a massive, massive game to change our lives, our family's lives, and to make everyone proud. That's what we're trying to do.

"I think if you've got to this final then you have to hopefully finish the job. It's all good getting to the final, and you've got to enjoy it because you don't get many moments to enjoy. But, no, everyone just wants to win so bad."
