Chelsea player now secured for next NINE years after signing stunning new contract

Chelsea handed a new contract to one of their star players.

A Chelsea player is now secured for the next NINE years after signing a stunning new contract.

Ahead of Chelsea's game against Crystal Palace on Sunday, huge news emerged.

David Ornstein reported that Nicolas Jackson agreed a contract extension with the club, revealing the details in the new deal.

Jackson is now contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2033, meaning Chelsea have secured his services for the next NINE years.

It's claimed that his progress over the past 12 months has seen him land the contract extension, with the 23-year-old seen by the club as 'key' to a 'central attacking core' under Enzo Maresca.

But the length of the contract shocked fans on social media as they made their feelings known.

One X user joked: "They had to move now to be fair, he was only signed until 2031."

A second questioned: "What sorta contracts are they offering these guys at Chelsea? Never seen anything like this. Ever."

A third added: "He will be 32 by then. What sort of contract is this??"

A fourth said: "2033 is ridiculous when Osimhen is coming to bench him."

A fifth claimed: "9 year extension will be so funny when they try to force him out in 2 seasons."

Another commented: "9 year contract is wild."

Jackson joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of £32 million from Villarreal.

He scored 17 goals in 44 games across all competitions last season and has two goals to his name this campaign, having scored against Palace today.

The Senegalese had been linked with a switch away from London this summer amid speculation linking the club with a move for Victor Osimhen.

But they failed in their pursuit of Osimhen, prompting the Blues to prolong Jackson's stay.
