Fans were left absolutely stunned by a rare goal that was scored in a Brazilian match on Thursday.
Brazilian Serie A side Fluminense travelled to second-tier Volta Redonda for a match in the Campeonato Carioca.
Fluminense were heavy favourites but neither team could break the deadlock at Estádio Municipal General Raulino de Oliveira in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
But with just three minutes left to play Luiz Carlos Paulino de Carvalho, known as ‘Mirandinha’ scored a spectacular bicycle kick to hand Volta a memorable victory.

Not only was the finish stunning but the assist was equally as good with Bruno Santos de Oliveira latching onto a loose ball with his back to goal before allowing the ball to bounce. Then he blindly used a bicycle kick to send the ball towards goal before ‘Mirandinha’ made no mistake to secure a historic victory.
And fans on social media could not help but give their take on the stunning goal with some even saying the race for the Puskas award is over in the first month of the year.
According to FIFA, the Puskas is awarded to the player who scores the "best goal of the year".

Of course, there will undoubtedly be more stunning goals in 2025 but Mirandinha will certainly be in with a chance of securing the coveted award.
Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho won the 2024 edition of the award for his acrobatic bicycle kick against Everton in November 2023.
