Arsenal fans have been reacting on social media after seeing a rival player wearing the club’s new home kit.

After finishing second in the Premier League to Manchester City in back-to-back seasons, the Gunners are hoping it will be third time lucky this time around.

Mikel Arteta’s men are in prime position to challenge City at the top again after adding Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori to their squad this summer.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with a move for Real Sociedad’s former Newcastle United midfielder Mikel Merino.

On Thursday, a video of Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong was posted on social media.

The Dutchman was seen sporting Arsenal’s new home kit as he was filmed inside his car.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Hear me out …he can play RW (cover for Saka )n he can play multiple positions RWB n RB.”

Another tweeted: “Probably did a shirt swap with someone when Arsenal played Leverkusen in the Emirates Cup.”

A third fan added: “Tell bro to take that shirt off NOW. Man was clowning us a few months ago now his out here acting like he reps us. Arsenal fans are so easy to please man.”

Someone else wrote: “An Arsenal fan in disguise.”

A fifth commented: “Sharp. We will definitely go for him next season.”

During a video from Leverkusen’s Bundesliga celebrations back in April, Frimpong, who had his arms around ex-Gunners captain Granit Xhaka, was heard saying: “Granit, you came from Arsenal and you won it here! My f*****g G!”

Safe to say some Arsenal fans have not forgotten about that comment despite the full-back repping the club’s new kit.

Arsenal will begin their quest for the Premier League title this weekend when they welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, reigning champions City start their title defence away at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.
