A professional FIFA player has labelled a custom 5-1-2-2 formation as "the most overpowered tactic" on the latest edition of the game.
TikTok user pattyaufifa, who has over 15,000 followers and 1.6 million likes on the social media platform, has nothing but praise for the tactic that offers a perfect blend of defence and attack.
As you can see in the clip below, the Melbourne-based gamer explains his custom instructions before saying people are going to "hate" him for sharing such an "amazing" way of playing FIFA 23.
In the video, Patty begins: "This is the new formation that pro players don't want you to know about. So it's a 5-1-2-2 formation and it's a custom tactic.

"You use the instructions 'join the attack' and 'overlap' on both wing backs. My CDM is 'stay back cover centre' and I haven't touched any instructions for both CM's. The striker's are on 'stay forward' and that's all.
"You are going to hate me for showing you this but they are amazing custom tactics. You have got so many runners going forwards. You've just got so many options going forwards and when you're defending, it's so tight and compact."
It's fair to say his team is also overpowered, as many comments have also suggested. For one, pattyaufifa has the strike force of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, as well as Yaya Toure, Park Ji-Sung and Kevin De Bruyne in midfield.

He's also splashed a hefty sum on Virgil van Dijk, Eder Militao and Joao Cancelo in the CB positions, not to mention Neymar and Ferland Mendy at full-back, who often join attacks and overlap.
Oh, and Patty also has Liverpool and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson between the sticks. Not a bad side, really.
Yaya Toure is certainly a strong option in the middle of the park, but fans think the former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder has been disrespected by EA, with some branding his card "a complete robbery".

The 39-year-old, who is currently working as a coach at Premier League side Tottenham, has been handed a FUT Heroes card on FIFA 23 this year.
EA say the cards have been introduced to shine a light on players who have a "common characteristic of leadership and respect" for the clubs they played for.
But Toure's stats of 89 physical, 84 dribbling, 86 passing and 83 shooting have been criticised alongside his 78 pace.
One fan said: "Being just a hero card is a robbery enough, but my guy could tear through a defence before you can blink," while another commented: "Overall should not be below 90 rated… this guy owned the midfield when City played."

A third wrote: "FIFA have always done him dirty when it comes to ratings."
Thoughts on Yaya's card? Will you be using the 5-1-2-2 tactic in the coming days?
