A FIFA 23 player has exposed a nifty trick that allows a team to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland for only a fee of £1.
Haaland, 22, has made an instant impact to life in England since his sensational £51.2m transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer window.
The towering Norwegian striker has scored an incredible 17 times in 11 Premier League appearances, with Haaland scoring a further five in the Champions League.

Haaland is under contract with City until 2027, but it’s believed that he has a hidden release clause worth around £175.5m in his current deal.
Haaland’s rumoured release clause, which would come into effect in the summer of 2024 and allow the likes of Real Madrid to sign him, has been dismissed by Pep Guardiola.
One TikTok user has now shown that inserting a release clause into Haaland’s City contract is one of the most effective ways to sign him on a cheap for a club.

The FIFA 23 player begins by becoming City manager and immediately heads to the squad hub to begin contract renewal talks with Haaland.
The TikToker proceeds to insert a £1 release clause into Haaland’s contract, which unsurprisingly leads to the City board firing the manager for their daft decision.
Players can then choose to become a manager for any club with a vacant position, with a subsequent player search showing Haaland with a £1 release clause.

All the player needs to do next is to trigger Haaland’s release clause and negotiate his contract before he makes his exit from City on FIFA 23 Career Mode.
“My brother did this every time he wanted to join a new team but with the same squad,” one person said.

Someone else commented: “What I did was release him and then sign him as a free agent.”

“That is hilarious buying Haaland for £1,” a third posted.
And a fourth TikToker pointed out: “You can do that with anyone.”
