New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has given some very specific orders to his training ground staff ahead of the club’s return to pre season on Monday.
United players have been putting the work in during the off season in order to keep themselves in good shape ahead of the new season. But now, they are about to get their first taste of being coached by Ten Hag and his staff.
According to The Mirror, Ten Hag has ordered grounds staff to trim the grass to exactly 15mm in order to allow the players to get up to speed to his passing style and the demands that comes with it.

It is also believed that the Dutchman will be looking at the overall fitness of his players during the first two days of training but will incorporate both fitness and passing into his drills instead of just purely fitness based exercises.
Ten Hag will hope to emulate what Sir Alex Ferguson achieved at the club, and it looks like he is about to implement a rule that was first introduced by Ferguson.
The former Ajax coach is to tell his players that they must eat together and socialise together after training in a bid to boost team spirit and the overall atmosphere in the dressing room.

Ever since Ferguson retired, the tradition of the players eating together has slowly faded away, with players said to be eating in the staff restaurant whenever they wanted, with some players even heading home or to the gym directly after training.
From now on, it is believed that Ten Hag and his backroom staff will be amongst the players during mealtimes.
United are set for a pre season tour to Australia and southeast Asia in July. With fixtures against Liverpool scheduled for Bangkok and then they will face Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in Australia.

United will be looking to improve under Ten Hag in the new season after a dismal 21/22 campaign. In which they finished sixth with the club’s lowest ever Premier League points tally.
The club are still waiting for their first signing of the transfer window, but it is said that a deal to bring Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong to Old Trafford is inching ever closer.
The Red Devils are also believed to be interested in Ajax winger Antony and Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen who is currently a free agent after his short term deal with Brentford ended at the end of last season.

Will Ten Hag be a success at the theatre of dreams? Only time will tell.
