While the buzz around Thomas Tuchel's appointment as the new England manager continues, his former boss at Bayern Munich has been discussing the German's time at the club, and he doesn't have a positive word to say.
Tuchel took over at Bayern back in March 2023, and led them to the Bundesliga title that season. But his second term with the Bavaria club was less than remarkable and he swiftly stepped aside in the summer.
Having been linked with various roles since, including most notably the Manchester United job, Tuchel will be back in management in the New Year after agreeing to lead the Three Lions into a new era
Tuchel will officially take over as England boss on January 1, 2025, but the decision to install him as the national team manager has already sparked debate throughout the English game and beyond.

One person who has not been afraid to share his thoughts on the new England manager is Bayern president Uli Hoeness, who told a ‘Leadership Summit’ at the Allianz Arena (via the Mirror) that Tuchel's time in Germany was a "catastophe."
Hoeness added that the former Chelsea man's negative way of football ruined the "entertainment value" for Bayern Munich and that he failed to develop existing players at the club, instead preferring to buy new ones.
Tuchel has since been replaced by former Manchester City defender and Burnley boss, Vincent Kompany. It would seem Hoeness is rather happy with his new coach too.

Discussing Kompany's impact, he said: "Vincent Kompany is – and that cannot be said for sure after a few weeks – a godsend for Bayern Munich.
"He’s someone who has played football at a high level himself. He also has a great character in my opinion and sees football as work. He wants to make the individual players better, and that’s what he’s working on."
Hoeness is not the only one criticising Tuchel, with the German media recently describing England as 'desperate' for hiring him. Only time will tell whether England have made the right choice, and whether Tuchel's impressive record at club level can translate to international success.
