Micah Richards was stunned after learning a fact about Gary Lineker’s England career.
On Sunday England opened their European Championships in Germany with an unconvincing but vital victory over Serbia.
Jude Bellingham’s first-half header was enough to dispatch Dragan Stojkovic’s men and put England in control of Group C, after Denmark and Slovenia played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the day.

However, amid much conversation on social media and in the press on the manner of the Three Lions' victory, Lineker revealed that his England sides didn’t win a single opening game across four tournaments.
Speaking on the Rest is Football, Lineker stunned co-host Richards by saying: “You know, I played in four tournaments and never won the opening game.
“I was just thinking now. In ‘86 we lost to Portugal, in ‘88 we lost to the Republic of Ireland, ‘90 was a draw with the Republic of Ireland, 1-1, ‘92 was a draw with Denmark, which was a goalless draw.”

Meanwhile, after yesterday’s Serbia victory, Southgate said: "We defended very well as a unit.
“Our team ran out of energy and that didn't surprise me due to the lack of 90 minutes our players have had. The subs helped us.
“I think we can be more efficient with the way we played in the first half which will help us moving forward."

Elsewhere, England skipper Harry Kane told the BBC: "We knew it would be a tough game. Serbia pose a threat. Very physical. I thought we dealt with it well. Overall we deserved to win. The group is just about getting through.
"Jude is an unbelievable player. He deserves all the praise, the confidence he plays with and the way he affects games.
“It's important for players that play in his position to get goals and assists. He finished it off nicely."
