Lee Carsley has been tipped to take a surprise Premier League job once his spell as England manager comes to an end.
The 48-year-old will coach the Three Lions for upcoming Nations League matches against Greece and the Republic of Ireland this month.
He will then step down from his role on December 31, with Thomas Tuchel taking over as full-time manager on January 1 having signed an 18-month contract.

While there were plenty of positive signs from Carsley's first two games as he secured victories over Republic of Ireland and Finland, defeat to Greece at Wembley last month appeared to end any hopes he had of being appointed as Gareth Southgate's successor on a permanent basis.
As it turned out, the FA had already agreed a contract with Tuchel on the day of that fixture on October 8, and the German was unveiled in a press conference once the international break had been completed.
Carsley will return to his previous role as U21 manager next year, with the young Three Lions contesting the U21 European Championships in the summer.

But he has been tipped as the ideal replacement to take over at one of his former Premier League clubs once their manager departs.
According to former Watford striker Troy Deeney, Carsley would be the perfect successor to Thomas Frank at Brentford if the Dane decides to leave his role in the future.
Frank, who has successfully managed Brentford in the top flight for three full seasons, has been linked with several top jobs including Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Carsley was previously in charge of Brentford between September and November 2015, having been promoted from his role as development head coach following the sacking of Marinus Dijkhuizen.

He won five and drew two of his 10 games in charge, but the Bees opted to replace him with Dean Smith in November and Carsley returned to his previous role.
Deeney told talkSPORT: "I think where Lee could come in at a different angle is that I don't think his expectation would be that he gets the top four job straight away.
He claimed: "With Gareth Southgate, it was like Manchester United was where he was coming in. That was his entry point.

"I think Lee would be great at Brentford, where he's worked before, if they moved on from Thomas Frank."
