Liverpool have three clear reasons behind their pursuit of RB Leipzig star Dominik Szoboszlai, according to Sky Sports reporter Melissa Reddy.
The Athletic's David Ornstein reported on Tuesday that Liverpool had held talks with the representatives of the 22-year-old ahead of a possible summer transfer.
Their main issue, however, relates to the player's release clause, which is reported to be around €70 million.

The Hungary international netted six goals and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, matching his tally from the previous campaign.
Liverpool also face strong competition from Newcastle, who are close to signing Italy international Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.
But if the Reds can complete a move for Szoboszlai, they will be adding a different dynamic to their midfield.

Three reasons behind Liverpool Szoboszlai chase revealed
According to Reddy, writing for Sky Sports, Liverpool have identified the attacking midfielder as a transfer target as a result of three key reasons.
She writes: "The Hungarian's comfort in playing across the midfield, his impressive chance creation metrics, and ball-carrying ability fits the profile Liverpool are after."
As well as his preferred attacking midfield role, the Hungarian is also capable of playing on either flank.

As per WhoScored, he also featured on the right of a three-player attack last season, as well as one appearance in a deeper midfield role.
The key issue for Liverpool in completing a transfer, however, is Szoboszlai's release clause. The 22-year-old can reportedly be signed for the €70 million fee now, but it is also understood that the clause will expire on June 30.
From there, Leipzig would be able to command a much higher fee for one of their key players, which would likely make doing a deal even more challenging.
According to Sky Germany's Phillip Hinze, both Liverpool and Newcastle believe even the release clause for the midfielder is too expensive, and would prefer to negotiate a lower price if possible - but it remains to be seen whether Leipzig agree to that demand.
