Cristiano Ronaldo has been tipped to join a Champions League club, despite interest from Saudi Arabia.
Last month the five-time Ballon d’Or winner left Man Utd in acrimonious fashion, after conducting a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan in which he was deeply critical of the club, and claimed he had no respect for manager Erik ten Hag.
Ronaldo, who had been struggling for regular starts under the ten Hag, sought a summer move without success, having struggled to lure the attention of a side competing in the Champions League.

Ronaldo is currently leading the line for Portugal at the World Club - the only player to be at the tournament while unattached to a club.
However, the 37-year-old is reportedly close to agreeing a contract worth more than £400million to join Saudi Arabia club Al Nassr.
Ronaldo to a Champions League club?
Odion Ighalo, who had a successful Man Utd loan spell in the 2019/20 campaign and is now in the Saudi Professional League with Al Hilal, tipped Ronaldo to join a Champions League club.

Ighalo added, however, that he would welcome the Portugal superstar in Saudi Arabia if a Champions League move were not to materialise.
Ighalo told the Athletic: “Cristiano Ronaldo is hugely ambitious, and I think he will want to play in a Champions League team and end his career well, but you never can say.
“He has the decision to make. I wish him all the best in that decision, and hopefully, he does come to Saudi Arabia.
“I would love for him to come to Saudi because he would boost the league and add more fanbase to the league.

“People who aren’t already watching will start to engage with the league and see something they are missing.”
Ronaldo has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, but such a move seems unlikely in the twilight of Ronaldo’s career.
