Manchester United are expected to beat the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool to the signature of highly-rated Netherlands international Cody Gakpo.
Gakpo, 23, has been in sensational form for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 17 assists in 24 matches.
He has carried that form into the World Cup for the Netherlands, scoring in their first two games against Senegal and Ecuador.

Gakpo was strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
He even held talks with United boss Erik ten Hag but a move to Old Trafford failed to materialise, with the Red Devils instead opting to sign Antony from Ajax.
However, United are said to remain interested in Gakpo and are expected to return with another approach for the winger in January.
United agree 'deal in principle' for Gakpo
According to Football Insider, United have already agreed a deal in principle to sign the winger, who has also been linked with Liverpool, Arsenal and Leeds United.

But it remains to be seen how much Gakpo, who was described as a "dangerous" by Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner earlier this season, could cost if he is allowed to leave PSV in the next window.
Foot Mercato claim the Dutch club have increased their asking price for Gakpo to €60m (£51.6m) based on his current form at the World Cup.
United may need to accelerate their plans to sign the winger, with his asking price likely to rise even further if he continues to impress in Qatar.
Gakpo: Interest in me is 'nice'
Gakpo recently responded to the reports linking him with United, saying it is "nice" but insisting his focus remains on the World Cup with the Netherlands.

"I'm focused now on the World Cup. It's always nice to hear but I just focus here and do my best," Gakpo said.
"I don't get shy about the rumours. It's nice things that people write, but I'm not too concerned with that.
"I'm not surprised. I know what I'm capable of but it's always a challenge to reach your highest level possible and I think I'm not there yet. I think I can improve in a lot of things.
"It's a team sport, it's not about one person. I prefer it to be about the team. Right now I'm busy with the Dutch team.

"I'll see what happens in the winter. In soccer, anything is possible."
