Romelu Lukaku Posts Cryptic Message To Snapchat Two Months After Admitting He Was Unhappy At Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku Posts Cryptic Message To Snapchat Two Months After Admitting He Was Unhappy At Chelsea

Lukaku has struggled to produce his best form since returning to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has posted a cryptic message on his Snapchat account just months after admitting he was unhappy with his role at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku caused controversy in December after conducting an explosive interview with Sky Italia, in which he criticised head coach Thomas Tuchel’s tactics and admitted he wanted to return to his former club Inter Milan.

The Belgium international was dropped by Tuchel, who labelled the interview “unhelpful” and “surprising”.

Lukaku was later forced to issue a public apology, admitting it was up to him to “restore trust” with the club’s manager and fans.

He has since returned to the side but has come under fire for his lack of goals in recent months.

Lukaku did manage to score against Al-Hilal in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup on Wednesday but it was only his second goal since the interview, with the other coming against National League side Chesterfield in the third round of the FA Cup.

Lukaku has cut a frustrated figure in recent weeks and he set tongues wagging again on Friday after posting a cryptic message to social media.

He wrote: "If you have to force it, then it probably doesn't fit."

However, sources have told The Sun that the message is 'not football related'.

Lukaku has received support from former Chelsea player Geremi, who believes the striker’s comments were “misunderstood”.

“I think that there was a lot of misunderstanding and misinterpretation about what happened,” Geremi told The Mirror.

“His attitude says that he is happy, so I think it was all misinterpreted about what he said.

“Of course, I think he can still give more, but he is trying. Lukaku is one of the best strikers in the world and every club would love to have him in the squad.”

Lukaku is expected to feature on Saturday when Chelsea take on Brazilian club Palmeiras in the Club World Cup final in Abu Dhabi.

The London club are looking to win the competition for the very first time, having previously lost to another Brazilian side Corinthians in the 2012 final.
