There is a new favourite to become the next Bayern Munich after Ralf Rangnick reportedly rejected the job.
The former Manchester United interim boss appeared to be in the frame to replace Thomas Tuchel and held in-depth discussions with the top brass.
However, ultimately talks did not prove successful and it's now emerged that the 65-year-old will remain manager of the Austria national team.
Rangnick released a statement on the news, commenting: “I'm the Austrian team coach with all my heart. I really enjoy this task and am determined to successfully continue on our chosen path.

“I would like to expressly emphasise that this is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision for my team and our common goals. Our full concentration is on the Euros. We will do everything we can to get as far as possible.”
Bayern have been unsuccessful in pursuits for Bayer Leverkusen's Bundesliga-winning coach Xabi Alonso and former boss Julian Nagelsmann.
But according to the bookies, Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is the favourite to replace Tuchel.

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is next in the market, with outgoing Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and former Bayern coach Hansi Flick following behind.
De Zerbi has been heavily linked with a return to Italy with AC Milan after an impressive run with Brighton.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk and Sassuolo man led the club into Europe for the first time history with a seventh placed finish in his first season.
