Ralf Rangnick could deal former club Manchester United a bitter blow in the summer transfer window by bringing two of their top transfer targets to Bayern Munich.
Bayern have contacted Rangnick about becoming the club's manager.
Current boss Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season, with Rangnick in line to take charge after Austria's Euro 2024 campaign.

"There has been contact from the side of Bayern Munich, and I have informed the Austrian Football Association," Rangnick confirmed.
He added: "If Bayern say: 'We want you.' And then I would also have to ask myself: 'Do I want this?'
"If I want to do something else, I will first discuss it with the Austrian FA."

The 65-year-old's last job in club football was as interim manager of United for six months between 2021 and 2022.
Rangnick was set to step into a consultancy role at Old Trafford, although that was abandoned shortly after current boss Erik ten Hag's arrival.
The German likened the rebuild needed at United to 'open-heart surgery'.

He's got strong views on how to restructure a club, something Bayern need after failing to win the Bundesliga for the first time in 11 years.
Per HITC, Rangnick's dream signings at the Allianz Arena will be a big blow to Ten Hag's summer plans.
Rangnick is keen to sign Bayern Leverkusen wing-back Jeremie Frimpong and Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, who could both move.
Frimpong played a vital role in Leverkusen winning the Bundesliga this term.

The 23-year-old has scored eight goals and registered eight assists in an attacking system that's the talk of Europe.
United haven't signed a right-back since purchasing Aaron Wan-Bissaka in 2019, with Ten Hag a long-time admirer of Frimpong.
He also attempted to sign De Jong during his first transfer window in England.

The Netherlands interational's contract expires in 2026. Cash-strapped Barcelona could be tempted to cash in on De Jong, one of their top earners.
United are yet to finalise their summer transfer plans amid a structural overhaul since INEOS' arrival.
Ten Hag's future remains up in the air. United are currently sixth in the Premier League and through to the FA Cup final, although the performances have been poor.
They won their last game 4-2 against Sheffield United and return to action against Burnley on Saturday.
