Arsenal are set to launch a surprise transfer bid for a Premier League striker this summer according to a recent report.
The Gunners are firmly focused on the title race having restored their eight-point lead at the top of the table by beating Leeds United 4-1 on Saturday.
Despite this, manager Mikel Arteta is keeping one eye on the summer transfer window and is ready to launch an audacious bid for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

According to Football Insider, the Gunners are monitoring the availability of Calvert-Lewin and are hoping a cut-price deal could be secured if The Toffees are relegated.
The Englishman has had several injury issues but Arteta is still a fan and wants to recruit a new striker ahead of next season.
He's a surprise target
Given Arsenal's progression and Everton's demise it's a surprise that Calvert-Lewin is on the radar of the North London side.

For the past two seasons he's struggled massively with injuries making just 28 appearances across both campaigns.
He's netted just one goal in 11 this season as well so it's not form that warrants a big move.
However, if he can stay fit he's proved in the past that he can go on a goal scoring run. In 2020/21 he scored 16 goals in 33 Premier League games.
If Everton drop down to the Championship then they will likely be forced to sell a lot of players in order to dramatically reduce their wage bill.

Several Premier League clubs would see that as an opportunity to secure good players for low prices and that seems to be Arsenal's plan with Calvert-Lewin.
They would face competition though and the 26-year-old would struggle to displace Gabriel Jesus or Eddie Nketiah so might favour a move to a club where he would get more game time.
