They reportedly had a bid in the region of £67 million rejected by Ajax, who are thought to be holding out for a whopping £84 million for their prized asset.
The Dutchman is hoping to lure Antony to Old Trafford having worked alongside him at Ajax last season.
But Schreuder is reluctant to sell the 22-year-old as he provided an update on the Brazilian forward.

In doing so, he made a sly jab at the fact that Man United are without Champions League football this season.
He said: "I want Antony to stay. I am assuming that the club will not sell him. The money that is being thrown around these days is crazy. But I would not find it okay if we sell another player. We are in a powerful position, financially.
"I understand Antony. But you play for Ajax. We are playing Champions League football. I don't think Man United are playing Champions League football."

Antony scored 22 goals in all competitions under Ten Hag last season.
And he spoke of the importance the 52-year-old has played in his career.
"Erik has been super important to me," Antony said. "I am grateful to him and wish him all the best. I will always cheer for Erik after working so closely together.
"I have not been able to celebrate or cheer for him as he got no points yet. I couldn't until now anyway and that makes me sad. But knowing Erik, I am convinced that he will turn the tide soon.

"Manchester United will improve at his hand. At his previous clubs he has proven that his method works."
