Antoine Griezmann produced a shocking open goal miss for France against Croatia this evening.
The two sides met in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup and played out a 1-1 draw, with Andrej Kramaric's cool penalty cancelling out Adrien Rabiot's opener.
But Griezmann, who has 42 goals in 104 appearances for France, spurned a golden opportunity to win the game on.

A mis-hit backpass was chased down by Griezmann and the ball was smacked against him by goalkeeper Dominik Livaković.
A glorious chance was then presented to the Atletico Madrid forward, but he made an absolute mess of him.

One might have accepted it if Griezmann's effort was cleared off the line by the defender on his way back, but instead he scuffed it horribly and didn't even hit the target.
Griezmann has regressed massively from the player who was France's main man in Euro 2016 and finished as the tournament's top scorer.
After a difficult spell with Barcelona, following a €120 million switch, Griezmann returned to Atletico Madrid in the summer in the hope of getting his career back on track.

But the former Real Sociedad man managed just three goals in 26 appearances in La Liga and was booed by his own fans on occasion.
Griezmann himself has admitted frustration over his season but the club's president has confirmed he will remain an Atleti player.
"For me, Griezmann is among the best three or four players in Europe”, Enrique Cerezo said, as per Marca.

“He’s an Atletico Madrid player, with a contract with Atletico and he will continue at Atletico.”
Griezmann signed on loan for a season, though there was the option to extend the stint by another year.
In addition, there is an obligatory €40 million permanent purchase clause to be activated in 2023.
