F1 fans furious as major change to Las Vegas GP that will have big impact on supporters

The 2025 Formula 1 season will begin in March.

Formula 1 fans have been complaining after a major change to the Las Vegas Grand Prix was announced.

The race at Sin City is one of the most anticipated sports events on the calendar.

Multiple A-list celebrities are often spotted in and around the paddock during the race weekend in Vegas.

Over the past two years, the race has started at 10pm local time, which is the crack of dawn in Europe, usually around 6am/7am.

However, ahead of the 2025 season, it has been claimed that the start time has now changed.

As reported by F1 journalist Chris Medland, who wrote: "The race start times for this year have been published and most notably see Las Vegas move the race two hours earlier. Now at 8pm local, 11pm ET."

Reacting on social media, fans in Europe have been left furious by the decision.

One fan said: "Why? Most the F1 fans are European."

Another tweeted: "4am race start time in the UK for Vegas."

A third fan added: "Having to wake up at 5am for the Las Vegas gp is a good joke."

However, some fans in the US were happy with the call.

Someone wrote: "Make the Las Vegas locals happy. Primetime West Coast race for F1. Crowds should be Huge for this start time."

A fifth commented: "FINALLY AMERICANS CAN WATCH AN AMERICAN RACE AT A HALF DECENT TIME."

Another fan said: "I can watch Vegas this year."

As reported by GP Blog, the race organisers said: "This adjustment is based on feedback, insights and experience from the first two races, expanding opportunities for fans to explore the destination and continuing to engage with more fans across the US.

"Details on the event and road closure schedules will be shared in the coming months."

Last season, Max Verstappen hit the jackpot in Vegas as he clinched his fourth successive F1 world title after finishing in front of McLaren's Lando Norris.

The 2025 F1 season will begin with the Australian Grand Prix, which will be held around Albert Park in Melbourne on March 16.
