Manchester City will begin formal discussions with Brighton over a deal for Marc Cucurella as Oleksandr Zinchenko finalises a move to Arsenal, according to reports.
The Premier League champions have identified Cucurella as a key target in a window in which they have already brought in Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega.
City begin their pre-season against Mexican side Club America in Houston, Texas on Thursday morning before facing Bayern Munich in Wisconsin at the weekend.

The Blues have balanced the books well this summer after selling Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling to Arsenal and Chelsea respectively for a combined fee in excess of £95 million.
However, one final piece of business remains to be done for Pep Guardiola, who led his side to a fourth Premier League title in five seasons last term.
City again fell short in the Champions League courtesy of a semi-final defeat against Real Madrid, though Guardiola would be keen to challenge on all fronts again in the new season.

Marc Cucurella, who joined Brighton from Getafe last summer, has enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at the Amex Stadium.
The Catalan has attracted heavy interest from the Etihad Stadium, with Manchester City plotting a swoop for the 23-year-old in the remainder of the transfer window.
It is worth noting though that Brighton have not yet received a formal bid for the left-back this summer, as club owner and chairman Tony Bloom recently stated.

That could all soon change as Manchester City finally look set to open official talks with the Seagulls over Cucurella, according to the latest information provided by Fabrizio Romano.
It has been revealed a bid is coming and City are close to agreeing personal terms with the Spaniard.
With Oleksandr Zinchenko set to join Arsenal after bidding farewell to the Premier League champions in the United States, City will step up their pursuit of the Brighton star.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed Zinchenko has left to complete a move to the Emirates and link up with Mikel Arteta.

With four years left on his current deal in the south coast, Brighton will put a sizeable asking price for Cucurella once City do come knocking on the door.
Cucurella is believed to be excited by the prospect of working under Pep Guardiola and challenging for major trophies in Manchester.
The capture of Cucurella would round off an impressive transfer window for the English champions, who have made some statement signings to kick on from yet another league triumph.
