Confirmed Line-Ups: Borussia Dortmund vs Manchester City (Champions League)

Manchester City travel to Germany for their final Champions League group stage game against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Manchester City take on Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League tonight, as they look to secure their place as Group G winners.

Pep Guardiola's side continued their chase down of Arsenal back in the Premier League at the weekend, with the gap between first and second cut down to just two points.

Manchester City's last outing saw them move past a challenging Brighton outfit at the Etihad Stadium, as a second-half strike from Kevin De Bruyne accompanied an Erling Haaland brace.

The duo of Manchester City scorers came either side of a Leandro Trossard strike that gave the visitors plenty of hope in an exciting performance from Roberto De Zerbi's team.

Last time out in the Champions League, it was a night of VAR drama that held City to a 0-0 draw in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.

Results elsewhere however meant that the Premier League champions still booked their place in the knock-out stages of the competition, which are due to get underway in the new year.

Manchester City know now that should they also avoid defeat against Borussia Dortmund tonight, then they will progress from Group G in first place.

That usually means a more favourable last-16 draw is in order, but history suggests that that isn't always the case.

Manchester City will be buoyed by the return of John Stones in recent days, and the England international will be hoping to get minutes under his belt after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in a clash against Germany during the most recent break.

Kalvin Phillips also began working on the field once again, albeit individually, after undergoing shoulder surgery on a persistent problem in recent weeks.
