Darts world number one Gerwyn "The Iceman" Price is set to make his highly-anticipated boxing debut against former professional Rhys “Cool, Fly and Flashy” Evans in April.
Price, who began his sporting career playing rugby before swapping union and league for the oche, announced the news on his official Instagram page this week.
It is believed the event will take on 9 April at the Valley Tavern pub in Fleur-de-Lis, a venue close to Price’s home town of Markham in the South Wales Valleys.
Price also revealed that he will need to drop 10kg in order to fight Evans; a superlightweight [3-0-0] who last fought professionally in 2014 against Rob Sharpe at the Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle.
The date of the upcoming event may come as a surprise to darts fans considering Price's Premier League schedule around April.
