Brownlow race heats up ahead of AFL’s night of nights

Who takes home the AFL’s top honour?

The favourites for AFL’s highest honour feature no easy picks as we draw closer to a winner for the Brownlow medal.

If you ask Sportsbet, Patrick Cripps and Nick Daicos are your best bet with only $0.15c separating the pair.

Though Lachie Neale and Marcus Bontempelli sit slightly closer to the outside, their form throughout 2024 has given them a clear chance to take home the gold.

The fifth contender that’s emerged as a dark horse is Fremantle’s Caleb Serong, who is paying $35.

The experts will tell you that a two-way tie isn’t far out of the realm of possibility either.

The Sydney Swans look unlikely to have a horse in the race, with Isaac Heeney ineligible courtesy of suspension in the 2024 season.

Even the Fox Footy panel appear split on the top dog, with Patrick Cripps taking a narrow lead in what’s set to be a tight race.

The Brownlow Medal kicks off at 23 September at 7pm on 7Plus for Australian viewers.
