Both Chelsea and Paris-Saint Germain are eyeing up a move for Robert Lewandowski should Barcelona and Bayern Munich negotiations fail, according to reports.
Chelsea’s striker curse has long hung over them ever since the departure of Didier Drogba, and despite Diego Costa filling the void for a few years, the Blues have not had a world-class consistent goalscorer.
A variety of attackers have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge this summer, with Thomas Tuchel keen to refresh his attacking options.

The signing of Raheem Sterling is all but done, personal terms have been agreed, a transfer fee of £47.5 million has been settled with Manchester City and he will have his medical on Sunday.
Elsewhere in the attack Chelsea are still involved in the saga with Barcelona for Brazilian winger Raphinha, who despite wanting a move to the Camp Nou, could end up in west London due to Leeds United’s frustrations with the Spanish club.
Currently Chelsea have centre-forward options of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Armando Broja, who has most recently been linked to Napoli, to pick from heading into the new season.

The Blues of course signed Romelu Lukaku last summer for £97.5 million but the return to his former club quickly went sour and saw him move back to Inter Milan on loan this transfer window.
As reported by Christian Falk, both Chelsea and Paris-Saint Germain are monitoring the negotiation status between Barcelona and Bayern Munich over the transfer of Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish striker has handed in a transfer request and feels his time at the club is over as he looks for a move away this summer.

Barcelona have been targeting the 34-year-old throughout the window, but the talks are hitting bumps as Bayern want the money up front opposed to getting instalments and have even been reported to believe that the Spanish club will not ‘exist in one or two years’.
This could open the door for Chelsea and PSG as Lewandowski seeks a transfer.
Falk continues to add that Lewandowski would prefer a move to the west London side rather than sign for the Ligue 1 side.
On top of a potential move for Lewandowski, the Blues have also been ‘offered the chance’ to sign Cristiano Ronaldo but Tuchel ‘currently has little interest’ in pursuing the Portuguese star.

Another option for Chelsea is to put full faith in Havertz for the season ahead, but should he suffer an injury they would be looking very light in attack.
While signing Lewandowski would not offer a long-term solution to Chelsea’s striker issue, he is still at an elite level and could lead the line successfully.
It remans to be seen as to whether the Blues will make a move for the Polish star.

A space has opened up in attack for Tuchel's side following Romelu Lukaku's departure, with the loan move to Inter Milan announced earlier in the summer.
