Everton have rejected a new bid of £45 million from Chelsea for Anthony Gordon, according to reports.
The winger has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent days, with a £40 million verbal proposal previously knocked back by the Merseyside club.

“We need to make sure we have a new generation to take over in the next years but the guys are strong, that is why they have our trust,” he said.
“Yes, there needs to be a balance."
At 21-years-old, Gordon would provide this as well as having Premier League experience after playing a crucial role in Everton's Premier League survival last season.

With Timo Werner having departed for RB Leipzig and Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech's futures in doubt, an attacker will most likely be brought in.
Chelsea were not willing to let their interest in Gordon end after the verbal proposal was snubbed, and have now made a bid worth £45 million.
However, as reported by Matt Law of The Telegraph, this has now been rejected by Everton.

The report states that Frank Lampard's side will now wait and see if Chelsea will make a new bid for the winger this summer.
This could happen in the coming days or towards the end of the transfer window, with Tuchel keen to add the youngster to his attack.
The Times continued to report that Everton are hopeful that rejectign the £45 million bid will be the end of Chelsea's interest in Gordon as they look to retain the services of the winger.

Lampard is said to be a huge admirer of the player and wishes to see him remain at the club after handing him the number 10 shirt this season.
Gordon has been at the club since the age of 11 and was handed his full debut two years ago, but despite his affiliation with Everton it is believed that personal terms would not be an issue with Gordon.
The Blues see the player as an option to add creativity and unpredictability from wide positions, according to Law, and could return with another bid if they wish to sign their man.

It remains to be seen as to whether Gordon will make the switch this summer, but Chelsea are in the market for another attacker and it looks like Tuchel has identified Gordon as his target.
