WWE icon Triple H has revealed that The Undertaker almost had his ear accidentally ripped off by 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin during a match in the UK – and that he was forced to come The Deadman's aid while they rushed to meet a plastic surgeon.
Injuries are part and parcel of professional wrestling, with 'The Game' himself experiencing his fair share of setbacks – most notably, two separate quadriceps tears in 2001 and 2007 and serious throat injury in 2002.
Speaking on the latest episode of the SPORTbible Stories podcast, Triple H revealed one of the more gruesome injuries that he encountered during his career.
Reflecting on the Insurrextion PPV event held in London in 2001, Triple H exclusively told SPORTbible: "I'll give you a funny story from that.

"The Undertaker got his ear clipped by Steve's knee brace and we had to get on a plane immediately following the event.
"I remember we came in our gear and got changed at the airport. We came on a charter plane and flew back to the United States.
"We were still in our gear and when we got to the airport, we went into a locker room and changed – and The Undertaker's ear was hanging off!

"We had a plastic surgeon that was going to meet him in the States.
"I stood for the longest time behind him putting pressure on his head and his ear because once you get up there the pressure will have you bleeding like a stuck pig.
"So I stood behind him for the longest time putting pressure on his ear to try and get it to stop bleeding while we were flying home.
"His ear was hanging on!"

Earlier this year, Triple H – real name Paul Levesque – announced his ring retirement, bringing the curtain down on one of the most incredible careers in WWE history.
He has since been promoted to chief content officer at the WWE and played a key role in organising last month's Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff - the first PPV held in the UK since the final Insurrextion event in 2003.
