WWE legend Rey Mysterio initially snubbed fans’ requests to sign their merchandise after claiming the company doesn’t “let us do s**t like this anymore.”
Footage emerged (which can be viewed in the video player below) on social media of the fan-favourite Mysterio speaking with fans who were holding merchandise at an airport.
The 48-year-old legendary wrestler explained to the fans why he was unable to sign their merchandise, with Mysterio claiming they are no longer allowed to do it.

Speaking to the fans, he said: “They don’t let us do s**t like this anymore, so… I’m signing for you guys to make money.”
The fans went on to claim that they were fans of Mysterio, with the iconic luchador making a U-turn on his stance and agreeing to sign one item each.
Responding to one fan’s plea, Mysterio said: “That’s why I’ll sign one. I’ll sign one for you.”

However, wrestling fans were far from convinced with the authenticity of the request considering the amount of merchandise they were carrying for Mysterio to sign.
One fan pointed out: “Are those fans carrying merch taped to boards for him to sign?”
Another commented: “He didn’t even completely reject them and offered to sign one item. That’s more than they deserved.”
Someone else added: “Damn, they have a lot of stuff to sign. This wasn’t like, ‘Can you sign my napkin?’”

“Bothering people at the airport with racks of merch to sign is SO low class,” a fourth Twitter user wrote.
And a fifth said: “You’re not a ‘fan’ of Rey Mysterio if you record him without his mask.”
Mysterio made his sensational return to WWE in 2018 and has currently been working on a storyline featuring his son, Dominik Mysterio.
