Everton look all set to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
James Garner has been at Manchester United for a number of years, rising through the ranks of the club’s academy.
He has spent the last two seasons on loan at both Watford and Nottingham Forest, with the latter loan move proving to be incredibly successful.

Garner spent 18 months on loan at Forest, with an initial 6-month loan during the second half of the 2020/21 season becoming so successful that the club re-loaned him the following season.
That second season he featured 49 times for the club and played a vital role in the side’s Premier League promotion, starting in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Following this, many fans expected to see Garner become integrated in the first team set up during pre-season, however injuries hampered the player from becoming involved under Erik ten Hag.

It was reported a few weeks ago that United were open to listening to offers for the Englishman, and it seems as though that move has now been found.
According to the Athletic, Everton are closing in on signing the 21-year-old. The deal would reach up to £15 million including add-ons which are most likely performance or appearance related.
Some reports claim the deal has now been agreed, but it is said that personal terms still need to be finalised.
It was reported on Tuesday that Everton, Leicester and Southampton were all interested in the player, but it seems as though the Toffees have emerged victorious in the race for his signature.

Garner is not the only young Red Devil who is set to leave before Thursday’s deadline, with Amad looking likely to leave the club on loan before Thursday.
It has been identified that Sunderland want the young Ivorian winger on loan for the coming season.
United reportedly are open to the move, and see new manager Tony Mawbray as someone who will play the type of football that they wish Amad to be part of.
