Manchester United are seeking to extend the contract of 17 year-old star, Alejandro Garnacho, with growing confidence at the club that an agreement will be reached after the international break.
Garnacho’s proposed new deal, as reported by Rich Fay of the MEN, reflects his growing reputation at the club, with the Argentina U20 international having a more substantial involvement in the first team squad during the 2021/22 season.
Manchester United are keen to show their commitment to the player’s future and reward his progress by offering a new deal, with Garnacho previously signing his first professional contract in 2020.
It has been said that United expect Garnacho to be a part of their pre-season tour squad to Thailand, Australia and Norway, with this giving the young star the opportunity to both train closely with the senior team and impress new head coach Erik Ten Hag.

Having been a part of both the Manchester United senior squad and the Argentina senior squad, following his first senior call up in March, Alejandro has had the unique opportunity to train with two of the all time greatest players to grace the pitch in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Ten Hag will be hoping that this opportunity will influence Garnacho’s ability on the pitch, with the young Argentine already demonstrating tremendous flair and skill for United’s youth teams.
He was the star in the FA Youth Cup final last month, where he scored twice in a 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest to win the competition the record 11th time for United.

Negotiations surrounding a new contract for Garnacho were sparked by serious interest coming from a host of clubs for the young star, with Serie A giants Juventus leading the pack.
It comes as no surprise that there is a notable interest in the player, with a growing reputation as a deadly winger with bucket-loads of potential yet to be realised.
With a new contract set to be signed, focus should turn to Garnacho’s immediate future and the role he may play in the 2022/23 season for a Manchester United team that must better their performance in the previous season.
Garnacho follows in the footsteps of Anthony Elanga and Marcus Rashford having been named as United’s U18 player of the year.

If the path of either Elanga or Rashford is any indication as to Garnacho’s own, it would be no surprise to see the Argentine feature to a growing extent moving into next season.
The likelihood of this would be only increased if Tottenham ramp up their pursuit of the aforementioned Rashford, with this moving Garnacho up the pecking order at Old Trafford.
The 17-year-old joined the club from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020, where fellow young talents Alvaro Fernandez and Marc Jurado also swapped Spain for England and United.
