The Dutchman was originally working with the same agent as United midfield target Frenkie de Jong, Ali Dursun.
But he wanted to swap for his father, which was thought to prove difficulties for United.
Yet, they were resolved and the deal has eventually been complete.

He wanted to sign him while managing Ajax, but with the two clubs being rivals, it was always going to be a difficult deal to do.
Now, he's got the chance to sign the player and will certainly be excited to see what he can bring to the table.
This could lead to the end of Alex Telles and Brandon Williams' United careers.

Although Shaw is still expected to be the number one choice on the left side of defence.
But, Ten Hag wanted a quality competitor for the Englishman and didn't see the Brazilian Telles as a solid enough option.
United will now move onto other targets such as Lisandro Martinez, and will aim to get De Jong over the line.
