In the latest update to a transfer saga that has gone on for almost all of the summer, Manchester United have now seen a €90 million bid for Ajax winger Antony rejected.
The nine-time capped Brazil international has been a target of new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag for much of the summer, with the Dutchman looking to take several assets from his old club with him to the Theatre of Dreams.
Having secured the signing of Lisandro Martinez from Ajax earlier this window, United have spent a large portion of the window trying to secure a move to Manchester for Antony, a move which the Brazilian is reportedly very keen on.

Despite already having multiple bids rejected for the forward, United had hoped their latest offer of €90 million would be enough to sway Ajax into allowing their forward to leave, however this will not be the case.
In a report from Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have insisted to United that they have absolutely no intention to engage in transfer negotiations regarding the winger.
Antony is reportedly unhappy about Ajax’s constant refusal to do business with United or any other club regarding a potential move, with the winger seeing a move to United as his ‘dream move.’

As a result of Antony’s unhappiness the forward has repeatedly trained by his own of late, additionally he was left out of the Ajax squad for their 1-0 win against Sparta Rotterdam last weekend.
It has since been reported by Romano that following Ajax again rejecting United’s advances, Antony will “push again” for the move, having told Ajax yet again that all he wants is a move to the Manchester side.
United have remained keen on bringing forward reinforcements to Old Trafford throughout this summer, yet with the window coming to a close in less than a week, time is running out.
Having considered Marko Arnaoutivic, Alvaro Morata, and Cody Gakpo amongst others this window, United are still yet to bring in any additional forwards this window. Worse yet, as of the time of writing only Gakpo remains a target out of the aforementioned three names.

If Ten Hag is unable to reinforce his front line he will need to rely on Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Anthony Elanga, and Cristiano Ronaldo to lead the attack. Rashford and Elanga impressed in United’s Monday night victory over Liverpool, whereas Martial has been plagued by yet more injury troubles, and Ronaldo’s future remains unclear.
