Alex Zverev cut an awkward figure in a post-match interview with Laura Robson for Sky Sports in an exchange which has left viewers cringing.
Zverev is currently in action at the ATP Finals in Turin and beat Andrey Rublev 6-4, 6-4 in his opening match at the tournament.
Following the victory, Zverev was interviewed by Robson, who retired from playing tennis in 2022, having missed the whole of the 2020 and 2021 seasons respectively due to injury.

Briton Robson peaked at number 27 in the world rankings in July 2013 and reached the fourth round of Wimbledon and the US Open during her playing days.
Since retiring from professional tennis, Robson, 30, has been a pundit for Sky Sports, and the broadcaster earlier this year launched a dedicated channel for the sport called Sky Sports Tennis.
27-year-old Zverev, meanwhile, is currently world number two and his best Grand Slam performances so far include making the US Open and French Open Finals in 2020 and 2024 respectively.

And following Zverev's victory in Turin, he struck up a peculiar and awkward conversation with Robson, which began with how they greeted one another and a difference of opinion.
Robson said: "You just told me that you weren't even sweating out there."
As they both began laughing, Zverev moved to quick to clarify the exchange and said: "Let's be clear: I gave you a handshake, you complained about the handshake saying it was too formal.

"Then I tried to give you two kisses on the cheek and you said, 'No, you're too sweaty, get away from me'. Then I said you complain about too many things."
Zverev than proceeded to answer questions from Robson as he recounted his straight-sets victory over Rublev.
However, the funny and perhaps slightly cringey encounter took a turn towards the end as Zverev admitted Robson made him nervous as he explained his disjointed answers at times.
He said: "You make me nervous during this interview so I can't really... I start mumbling and I don't know what to say anymore."

It prompted Robson to say they could end the interview there if he was nervous and needed time to prepare for his next match, which Zverev accepted the offer of as they both smiled and laughed.
Zverev then ended the interview when he said: "This is the most awkward interview I've had this year, for sure!"
Few would disagree with that view, having seen the exchange unfold in full, which you can watch above if you have not seen it yet.
One fan was quick to pick up on their chemistry, saying: "They’re flirting hahaha."

Another agreed by responding with: "Get a room you two!"
While a third fan believes Zverev carried himself brilliantly throughout, claiming: "Zverev actually has good game."
