Rugby League player Jack Johnson has had his testicle removed after it "exploded" in a training session. Ouch.
The 23-year-old, who currently plays as a full-back or winger for Betfred Championship side Newcastle Thunder, has had an 'interesting' week, to say the least.
He was a tryscorer in Thunder’s dramatic 24-24 draw against Dewsbury last Saturday as Eamon O'Carroll's side shared the spoils at Kingston Park.
But days later, in a freak accident, Johnson's testicle "exploded" in training and as a result, the former Warrington Wolves, Widnes Vikings and Rochdale Hornets player made his way to hospital.

In a Twitter post making light of the situation, Johnson confirmed his testicle has now been removed.
"What a load of BOLLOCKS," he wrote. "Not my greatest Thursday ever, with the old testicle exploding at training. Had it removed last night. Will be back soon just a little bit lighter
"And as the saying goes RL wins again. P.S does the swelling stay asking for a friend."
Johnson isn't the only sportsman to have one of his balls removed after an accident in training.

Last year, MMA fighter Christian Lohsen reportedly took 'a knee to the nuts' and was taken to hospital where he ended up having one of his testicles surgically removed.
While the incident was pretty serious, Lohsen kept his sense of humour throughout the unfortunate process.
"So last night was rough," he said on Instagram. "In a training accident I got my left testicle ruptured by a knee which led to it getting surgically removed.
"Thank you to everyone last night that helped me get to the hospital. I'm fine home resting, surgery went well."
He added: "Doc said I won't lose testosterone or ability to have kids from this. If I lose the other one however it's a different story so from now on if you hit me in my last testicle we aren't friends... lol.
