Tom Brady has shut down rumours of a comeback to the NFL citing his adoption of a two-month-old kitten as the reason.
The NFL star confirmed he was retiring ‘for good’ in February following a brief retirement following the 2021 season.
However, that hasn’t stopped rumours of a return to swirl around.

Claims coming from the NFL Scouting Combine included a top rumour that Brady wasn’t completely done with the sport, according to Fox News.
Commentator Rich Eisen claimed to Fox News that there were multiple people at the combine who had heard the rumour.
He said: “No. 1 rumour I heard at the combine, not in terms of a lot of chatter, but this one just blew my mind, Tom Brady may not be done after all.

"There was a couple people who were just like ‘hang on, just you wait.’"
But the man himself was quick to shut down such talk.
And made an equal parts hilarious and wholesome reason as to why.
He tweeted: “Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a two-month-old kitten for their daughter.”
Brady fans loved the candidness of the NFL great’s reason behind staying retired.

One fan tweeted: “Tom Brady, ultimate Girl Dad.”
Another wrote: “I have never loved you more than I love you right now, for adopting that kitten for your daughter - love love love this.”
Meanwhile, another fan suggested Brady purchase a hat branded ‘Girl Dad’ on the front.
Brady filed his official retirement paperwork with the NFL following his announcement, which for all intents and purposes should’ve ended any speculation.

His career will go down in folklore, and he will be remembered as one of the greatest passers in the history of the sport.

He is the only player to win more than five Super Bowls with seven to his name, while he was named the NFL’s MVP in 2007, 2010, and 2017.
