Michael Jordan made his entire security team get matching tattoo to test their loyalty

The basketball GOAT and Chicago Bulls legend made his entourage get a unique memento.

Basketball GOAT Michael Jordan once made his whole security team get a specific tattoo in a bid to test their loyalty and they seemed to pass with flying colours.

The 61-year-old NBA star is often seen as basketball's greatest player of all time thanks to his illustrious career on the court.

Jordan has been retired for more than 20 years but his appeal lives on thanks to his extraordinary career, much of which was spent with the Chicago Bulls, then latterly with the Washington Wizards in the closing stages.

The six-time NBA Champion enjoyed a memorable spell with the Bulls as he was named the MVP in the NBA Finals a total of six times.

He was also crowned the NBA's Most Valuable Player overall on five instances and is seen by many as basketball's GOAT, alongside the like of LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal and the late Kobe Bryant.

Jordan's appeal stretched beyond the basketball court thanks to his accomplishments and achievements in other industries.

It extended into sportswear with his Nike Air Jordan trainers, as well as to Hollywood with the 1996 film Space Jam and became the focus of Emmy-winning documentary series The Last Dance in 2020 on streaming platform Netflix.

And his achievements have given him an enormous net worth, which was estimated this year by Forbes to stand at a remarkable $3.2bn.

Jordan's iconic logo is a silhouette of the man himself midway through a slam dunk, a sight which was so common during his playing career and is known as the 'Jumpman'.

It is owned by Nike and used to promote the Air Jordan trainers and other sportswear.

And the former Bulls star once made his entire security team get a tattoo of that iconic image in a bid to test their loyalty.

John Michael Wozniak, who passed away in 2020, spoke to Complex back in 2016 where he explained how it happened.

He said: "We went with Michael to a tattoo place in Chicago.

"He said, 'Put them on,' and we all ended up getting [the Jumpman logo] tattooed on our arms. We never sought fame being around Michael Jordan. I was at an opening of a movie with Michael Jordan here in Chicago, it wasn't Space Jam, and Bo Jackson was there.

"I was in the movie with Michael for a couple of minutes, and he said to me, 'That's your claim to fame, that's all you're gonna get.' And everyone laughed at it, because we experienced the superstar Michael Jordan, but there were also times when everyone let their guard down and laughed at a joke."
