Simulation shows what would have happened if LeBron James joined Chicago Bulls to play with Michael Jordan

The NBA legends are often part of the greatest of all time (GOAT) debate.

An interesting simulation has emerged online which appears to show what would’ve happened if LeBron James joined the Chicago Bulls during Michael Jordan’s time with the NBA team.

Jordan, 62, and James, 40 are often part of the NBA GOAT conversation alongside the likes of Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant.

However, Jordan and James have never played against each other in a competitive match, as the 62-year-old six-time NBA champion enjoyed his best years at the Bulls between 1991 and 1998 before a two-year spell at Washington Wizards between 2001 and 2003.

While LeBron currently plays for the LA Lakers and boasts four titles from his time in LA and stints at the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers.

But what would’ve happened if the pair had played in the same era and even on the same team?

Well, LeBron usually plays as a small/power forward and would compete with Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant at the height of the Bulls’ success in the ‘90s.

And when speaking on the PBD Podcast, Pippen, 59, explained how Jordan would’ve fared better in the modern-day game.

"Remember, Michael era and my era early on, very physical, 85 to 90-point games - different,” said Pippen.

"In today's game, we're looking at some games that get to 130, 140. So I think Michael would have strived off just being free, open, not having the physicality he had to play in time in, time out."

He added: "When you look at these players in today's era, being LeBron, there's really no comparison when you talk about the level of competitiveness... Michael bunched up all of his competitiveness and exposed it out to the world.

"In 12 to 14 years, we saw his whole resume, his competitiveness, his drive, his will to win. When someone like LeBron has to spread that out across 20 years, it's not the same fight, it's not the same drive, it's not the same hunger.”

However, a simulation put together by MED, attempted to predict what would’ve happened if LeBron signed for the Bulls in 1989. And surprisingly the simulation saw James finish his career with five MVP (Most Valuable Player) crowns compared to Jordan's three. LeBron also earned four FNVP (Finals Most Valuable Player) awards whereas Jordan got four.

LeBron James on relationship with Michael Jordan

James recently opened up about his relationship with Jordan when speaking on the Pat McAfee Show in March.

“We don’t talk,” James admitted. “Because I’m still playing. I’m still playing, I’m still focused on my craft right now.”

“I think it’s because I’m still playing,” he added. “And MJ, we all know MJ. Even if you don’t know him personally, he is one of the most ruthless competitors there is and until I’m done and he doesn’t have to look at me running up and down wearing the No 23 and every time my name is mentioned, it’s mentioned with his.”
