Last night at Noche UFC produced possibly the worst cut ever seen in the MMA franchise - and the doctor who treated the injury has revealed the aftermath.
UFC 306 was renamed Noche UFC in recognition of Mexican Independence Day and it took place in Paradise, Nevada.
The main card was headlined by Merab Dvalishvili's encounter against Sean O'Malley, with the former cruising to a unanimous victory over O’Malley at the Sphere in Las Vegas, a historic event in combat sports history.

It was only O'Malley's second ever MMA defeat and meant Georgian Dvalishvili claimed the UFC bantamweight championship from his opponent.
But Dvalishvili's victory over O'Malley was the final clash out of 10 fights at the event, and one of the clashes on the preliminary card caught the attention after one of the injuries suffered by a fighter.
Earlier on in the evening, Irene Aldana took on Norma Dumont in the woman's bantamweight division.

Dumont emerged victorious from the bout after the fight went to all three rounds, with a unanimous decision from the judges and scorecards which read identically with scores of 30–27, 30–27 and 30–27.
It means Dumont's MMA record now stands at 12 wins and two losses, while Aldana has 15 victories and eight defeats.
A clash of heads between the pair ended up opening a huge cut on the forehead of Mexican Aldana, which led to blood dripping on the canvas of the Octagon.

The wound was treated in between rounds as Aldana admirably continued on to the end, but was defeated thanks to a unanimous decision against her from the judges.
Though it was a gruesome scene in the Octagon with all the blood dripping from Aldana's wound, an Instagram post from a UFC doctor has shown the true extent of the injury and the aftermath of it, including just how many stitches were needed.

UFC doctor Greg Tsu has posted a video showing the cut extended from Aldana's hairline, down her forehead to her eyebrow, before curling around the middle of her nose, as well as an additional cut above her right eye and below her eyebrow.
Tsu was clear in his admiration for the fighter, as he wrote: "Irene Aldana, such a strong & courageous human.
"What a superstar. Godspeed in healing!
"Thanks for putting up with my Spanish. So honored to have helped."

Some have branded the injury as the worst cut seen in UFC history, and it is hard to argue against it and think of many more which were worse.
