Joe Rogan has revealed when he'll quit the UFC as MMA icon says 'it's in my contract'

Joe Rogan has revealed when he'll quit the UFC as MMA icon says 'it's in my contract'

Commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan has a special clause in his UFC contract.

Joe Rogan claims he'll quit the UFC once promotion president Dana White is gone, as it is in his contract.

The 56-year-old has been affiliated with the UFC since 1997.

He interviewed fighters at UFC 12: Judgement Day, then became a colour commentator after initially working without any payment.

Rogan has now revealed that he'll walk away from the UFC when White leaves.

He claims it's written in his contract for him to move on in the event the UFC president departs.

"I’m a professional fan," Rogan said on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.

He added: "If Dana (White) leaves, I’m gone. That’s in my contract."

Rogan is one of the company's longest-tenured employees and someone who White greatly appreciates as he credited the former Fear Factor host with helping the extraordinary growth of the UFC.

"Part of the reason we’ve grown so fast is because Rogan’s ability to walk you through what’s going on while it’s happening," the UFC boss explained to Barstool Sports.

"He’s brilliant, he’s so good, and he’s so passionate about the sport.

"This is not a guy who is just there for the paycheck, this is a guy who loves this stuff.

"We didn’t pay Rogan the first 12 events he worked, he did them for free."

Rogan is a permanent member of UFCs top-tier commentary trio alongside Jon Anik and former UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.

His podcast is also among the most successful in the world, with Rogan and Spotify renewing a $250 million streaming deal in February.
