UFC star Tom Aspinall has provided a huge update on his highly-anticipated unification fight with heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
It's been nearly 18 months since British UFC star Aspinall won the interim heavyweight championship with an impressive first round knockout over the intimidating Sergei Pavlovich in Madison Square Garden.
Since then, the Englishman has called for Jones, the 'undisputed' heavyweight champion, to face him in a fight that would see one man emerge as the undisputed holder of the heavyweight belt, but the American has yet to agree to the bout.

But now, Aspinall has provided fans with a promising update, as it sounds like it may only be a matter of time before we see him again in the octagon.
Once he returned from a pectoral injury that had left him sidelined for some time, Jones decided instead of facing Aspinall to unify the division, he would instead fight former champion Stipe Miocic, who he comfortably defeated via a third round TKO.
Meanwhile Aspinall made a rare interim title defence against former foe Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in Manchester, before once again calling out Jones to finally face him and settle their rivalry.

And it now appears that we are closer than ever to Jones vs Aspinall finally happening, as the Brit provided an encouraging update in a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel.
“I know everyone wants fight news, but I do know what’s happening now,” Aspinall told fans.
“I have been sworn to secrecy for a little bit, so stay tuned… but there will be news coming, hopefully very soon.”

In just over two months, one of the most highly-anticipated events of the UFC calendar will take place as international fight week gets underway at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Despite assurances that the headline fight for the card would be announced earlier this week, Dana White is yet to let fans know what to expect from UFC 317.
Therefore, it is very possible that Aspinall will finally get the chance to face Jones in the main event of 2025's biggest fight card, especially if rumours that a planned headline fight between middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev is now off.
