UFC fans think Joe Rogan should have been ‘fired’ after making controversial comments about a fighter.
Rogan, 57, is a man of many talents. Alongside his exploits as a comedian, he is best known for being the host of the hugely popular ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast and for his expert analysis of MMA when he commentates on UFC shows.
And for the most part, he is well-respected in MMA circles. But back in 2022, many fans took a dim view of his comments regarding a certain fighter.
Rogan received criticism regarding his commentary at UFC 282, which took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, back in December 2022.

The main event was a light-heavyweight title bout between Jan Błachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev.
The contest ended in a controversial split decision draw with judges returning scorecards of 48-47 Błachowicz, 48-46 Ankalaev and 47-47.
However, after the fight fans suggested that Rogan was biased towards Blachowicz, 41, and claimed he implied that the Polish fighter had lost.
"This is very unfortunate gentlemen, we find ourselves in a position where this is a split draw," Rogan said before he interviewed the fighter inside the octagon.

"It was an excellent fight, you went to raise Ankalaev's hand after the fight, is that because you believe he should've won the decision?"
The 41-year-old then explained how he'd have to watch the fight back but did admit that he didn't think he'd won the fight.
"To me that felt like you felt that you'd lost that decision," Rogan added.

Rogan then interviewed Ankalaev, 32, and explained how he and fellow commentator Daniel Cormier thought that the Russian had "done enough particularly in the last rounds".
And even though Błachowicz didn't appear to be annoyed at Rogan, the same can't be said for MMA fans online.
One said: "Joe Rogan should have been fired immediately after his blatantly biased interviews at UFC 282
"He’s held a grudge against Blachowicz ever since he ended Izzy’s career."

Another leapt to Rogan's defence, they added: "The UFC firing Joe rogan, would be like firing butter from being on bread. Don’t be so silly."
While a third explained: "Was watching this the other day and thought the same, so disrespectful to Jan in that moment."
As a fourth commented: "He should be fired for being honest? Ankalaev was robbed of the title, and he is one the only guys that still mentions Blachowicz and how good he is if you listened to his podcast."
