IPTV users who stream the UFC illegally sent stark warning as prosecutions planned

IPTV users who stream the UFC illegally sent stark warning as prosecutions planned

Users who stream the UFC illegally have been warned.

Dana White has issued another harsh warning to anyone illegally streaming UFC events using services like IPTV.

The UFC president has long been outspoken on his anger towards pirating live sports, threatening IPTV users with lawsuits.

Last month, president of TKO Group Holdings, who own the UFC, Mark Shapiro confirmed that piracy numbers surrounding the UFC and WWE have increased recently,

And now, White has issued his response to the rise in illegal steams broadcasting the UFC.

Speaking in the press conference following the latest contender series event, White said: "Trust we know exactly how to combat piracy, I will tell you extensively what we do after every event, but we go after piracy hard and you saw a few years ago we started prosecuting people.

"That’s how you combat piracy. Start f***ing prosecuting people for stealing.”

White's comments came in response to business partner Turki Alalshikh, who revealed how he plans to combat piracy as he continues to take over the sport of boxing.

The Saudi Arabian boxing chief told talkSPORT's 'White and Jordan' programme on Monday: "You mention the [next] PPV [headlined by Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois].

"I think this is my next big fight, and I want your advice also. I dream of a PPV with a good price to make the fans happy, and subscribe and get them to watch it legally.

"Usually when I see a high [priced] PPV, a lot of people go and watch the fight illegally, and this is not healthy for boxing and the platform.

"I would prefer to have one million fans subscribe and buy the PPV for £20 than less than 500,000 [for £40]."

But it is clear that White strongly disagrees with Alalshikh, and it's not the first time that the UFC president has spoken out on the matter.

Speaking on GQ's Actually Me series, he said: "You're bi****** about fighter not making enough money, they get a piece of the pay-per-view.

"People who steal it are stealing for us and them.

"And what happens to people who steal? You get f****** smashed and you go to jail and I make sure that we get you."
