Fans convinced Dana White has created 'stunt' over Conor McGregor's UFC 303 fight

Fans convinced Dana White has created 'stunt' over Conor McGregor's UFC 303 fight

Conor McGregor's fight against Michael Chandler is thought to be in 'limbo'.

Fans are convinced Dana White is in cahoots with Conor McGregor amid uncertainty over his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler after an old video emerged online.

McGregor vs. Chandler is 'very much in limbo', according to combat sports reporter Ariel Helwani, who provided a major update on the status of the UFC 303 bout.

It comes after a media event in Dublin, Ireland, was cancelled, throwing the MMA superstar's comeback fight against Chandler into doubt.

UFC bosses have kept silent on the situation as McGregor posted a cryptic message on social media in a now-deleted post.

But fans think the uncertainty surrounding UFC 303 is a ploy to hype up the event slated for June 29.

They've come up with that theory after an old video of McGregor talking up an idea from UFC director of public relations Lenee Breckinridge.

He continued by claiming White and himself loved the 'amazing idea'.

In the clip, McGregor says: "She came up with an amazing idea... Dana White loved it, pitched it to me... I double loved it."

The footage of McGregor speaking ahead of UFC 303 got fans online talking.

One X user wrote: "I was thinking about that."

A second added: "This is all just rumors that Ariel made up. Nobody would talk about this if he didn't spread three different rumours for three weeks straight now."

The 35-year-old hasn't fought since his leg break against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.

He's on a two-fight losing skid and hasn't won a UFC fight since his 40-second drubbing of Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 back in January 2020.

Chandler, meanwhile, is also coming off a defeat to Poirier, having suffered a submission defeat in their UFC 281 bout back in November 2022.
