Talk about speaking too soon.
Well, that's exactly what happened in the case of Henry Cejudo at UFC 278.
Cejudo, who is good friends with Kamaru Usman, appeared to jinx the former welterweight champ by seemingly showboating in the fifth round.
As the final round began in his main event clash with Leon Edwards, Usman was up on all of the judges' scorecards and looked destined to get his hand raised and move a step closer to surpassing Anderson Silva's record for the most title defences in a row.

But, as we all now know, that was far from what actually happened.
With less than a minute left on the clock, Edwards knocked Usman into another dimension with a headkick, stealing a historic victory which sees him crowned king of the 170-pound division.
In the wake of the bout, various footage has emerged showing the reactions of people in the crowd, including Usman's manager Ali Abdelaziz and good pal Henry Cejudo.
And, if we're not mistaken, Cejudo seemed to jinx Usman by gloating and celebrating too early before the fight had even finished.

In vision posted on social media, Cejudo can be heard saying to Abdelaziz: "Hey, Ali! Easy money, bro. Easy money."
The subtitles at the bottom of the clip read: "One minute later."
Which is when Edwards landed a perfectly-executed kick on Usman's chin, sending the ex-champ folding like a deck chair onto the canvas.
Cejudo wasn't laughing and giggling anymore.

Abdelaziz instantly put his head in his hands which Cejudo just sat back with a shocked look plastered all over his face.
It doesn't matter which sport it is, you can never celebrate too early.
Interestingly enough, though, another faint voice can be heard in the background of the viral video.
It's not confirmed yet, but fans think the person yelling 'head-kick Leon' is the Brit's coach who would have been cageside too.
